Definition: Heliskiing is skiing on remote mountainsides that are reached by a helicopter. Skiers and snowboarders board a helicopter for the ride and they are taken to off-piste terrain. At the bottom of a run the helicopter picks the skiers and snowboarders up and ferries them to more untouched powder.
The most popular place to heli-ski in North America is in the Canadian Rockies. Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing and Canadian Mountain Holidays both offer heli-skiing and heli-snowboarding.
