Some Coloradans have a mission in life: to climb the 54 mountains in this state that rise more than 14,000 feet above sea level. Folks who live here can head up to the mountains on weekends and take a variety of shorter hikes leading up to climbing "Fourteeners," as this group of mountains has been nicknamed, but you can get a similar experience while staying at a luxurious Hyatt. You Can Do ItBut if you're not experienced in hiking on mountains, where both the degree of difficulty on the routes and the weather are variable, there's an option for you using the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek as a "base camp." The luxury hotel offers several "Hike Weeks" each summer. In 2007, it's June 17-21, August 19-24, and September 9-14, which culminate in the chance to climb a Fourteener. What's It Going to Cost? The four night package includes lodging, several meals, a spa credit for two treatments at the Allegria Spa. The use of hiking boots, poles and inclement weather gear during guided hikes is available. The price is $1,474 per person based on double occupancy. Visit Park Hyatt Beaver Creek or call 866-471-7658 for more information or to book. |
