Gregs explorations have taken him to every corner of the globe. He has guided mountaineering expeditions in the Alps and Andes and paddled wild rivers in the Americas. He has dropped teams into golden slot canyons, trudged through deep jungles in Africa, Central America, and Asia, and guided archaeological expeditions across the parched Arabian Peninsula.
Greg is a Fellow with the Royal Geographical Society, and a member of the Adventure Travel Trade Association. His recent books include: Ultimate Adventures: A Rough Guide to Adventure Travel, which was a ForeWord Book of the Year nominee, and Rough Guides top selling release for 2008. He has also written 60 Hikes within 60 Miles: Salt Lake City (Menasha Ridge Press, 2008) and Best Easy Day Hikes: Salt Lake City (Falcon Guides, 2009). Greg is sharing some of his favorite hiking trails in Utah and in the Alps with my readers. Every summer, he guides hikers and trekkers on adventures in the Swiss Alps with Alpenwild. (He recently mentioned that while guiding a hiker on a walk in the Alps the hiker showed Greg a copy of 5 Best Day Hikes in the Swiss Alps that the hiker had copied onto his Blackberry. Here are links to Gregs 5 Great Day Hikes Near Salt Lake City.
