Austin-Lehman Adventures (ALA) is a small-group adventure travel company specializing in high-end, active vacations. Each trip is limited to 12 guests, or a maximum of 18 on family trips, so the guest-to-guide ratio is never more than 6-to-1. The company has been in business for 23 years, and ALA trips have been listed among the “World’s 25 Best New Trips” by National Geographic Adventure Magazine for three consecutive years.

Dan Austin, co-founder and director of Austin-Lehman Adventures, says: “ Before we launched Austin-Lehman Adventures, Paul Lehman and I brain-stormed a lot about what makes a great tour company in a world of many good ones. We kept coming back to two things; over-the-top service above and beyond what any guest would expect and constant engagement of our loyal alumni travelers through soliciting their feedback, serious listening and reacting to their insights and suggestions.
It's not easy to "wow" people but take an ALA trip and I think you'll be quite amazed. It's the little things we do, like hearing over a picnic lunch that a guests is wild about Swiss chocolate and then having our guides surprise them with a couple of bars on their pillow that night. It's also the big things like knowing a secret trail that leads to the most spectacular vista not found on any tourist map. I'd have to say, after many years of secretly taking other tour company's trips and closely monitoring our own, ALA has the most "wows" in the business. And the fun part... we're never through being creative and out-wowing ourselves!
We're equally passionate about our dedication to having a "client-centered" company. We do this by careful listening and creating easy ways for our guests to offer feedback and suggestions before, during and after a trip. When inquiring and booking our sales consultants take great care in matching a guest to the right trip, or suggesting a private, custom trip if more appropriate. On a trip our guides are always eager to tweak an itinerary if some people want less hiking and more biking, additional time in town browsing the shops, or a romantic candle-lit dinner by themselves. After the trip you'll be welcomed home by a friendly email and link to an easy trip evaluation form. Paul and I review each and every comment and rating and make immediate changes if needed such as the amount of down-time, a new trail or choice of restaurant. We view our loyal guests as our greatest asset."

Some of the company’s most popular trips, which are offered year after year include two family adventures: The Yellowstone National Park Family Adventure, and Alberta - Banff & Lake Louise Family Adventure. Adventures for travelers age 16 and older include: Alaska - Kenai Peninsula, Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, and Costa Rica- Volcanoes & Jungles Multisport Adventure.
The three trips that ranked among the “World’s Best 25 New Trips” are the Panama Adventure, the Okanagan Wine Country Adventure, and the Oaxaca Adventure.
