The annual Ski with the Superstars Week at Portillo, Chile is a gathering of some of the most outstanding freestyle skiers and riders in snow country. You need to be an expert skier who is comfortable on black diamond slopes to participate in the clinic, August 16-23, 2008. Age, however, isn't a major factor because in previous years the age range has stretched from 14-years-old to 50+.
Who Are Your Experts?
Former U.S. Ski team members, stars in Warren Miller and Matchstick flicks and World Freeskiing champions are among the pros who will be leading small groups on the slopes each day. Chris Davenport is a two-time World Freeskiing Champion and Shane McConkey gets credit for inventing a variety of techniques in the freestyle movement. Former U.S. Ski teamer Wendy Fisher is a three-time World Extreme Skiing Champion. Chris Anthony is the 1996 Alaskan Extreme Skiing Champion and Mike Douglas has been called the "Godfather of the New School" and is a former Xgames star.
Whats It Going to Cost Me?
Your time on the slopes with the pros, nightly talks and presentations by the athletes, a dinner and a cocktail party costs $1,950. Youll come home with a CD of images taken by a photographer who tags along each day. Portillo Ski Weeks during the regular season begin at $2,190 per person for seven night's lodging at the Hotel Portillo, lifts and meals. Rates in the more affordable Octagon lodge start at $1,250 per person.Want to Learn More?
