“Skiing the Lhotse Face was a large part of what we came here for.” said extreme skier Kit DesLauriers, in her dispatch describing how they skied down the bullet-proof snow on the Lhotse face while descending from the summit of Mt. With this ski descent, Kit DesLauriers becomes the first person in the world to ski down from all of the “Seven Summits,” a nickname used by mountaineers who want to climb the highest mountains on each continent. The group was part of Berg Adventures International’s fall 2006 expedition, which climbed the highest mountain in the world.
