Relief Riders International Morphs Into Relief Workers International

By Lois Friedland, About.com

The award-winning Relief Riders International is long famous for its humanitarian educational and medical missions for horseback riders who like VolunTourism vacations. But, did you know they are morphing into Relief Workers International, designed for travelers who want to to go on educational and medical missions, but don't like horseback riding?

This winter there are two trips planned to the breathtaking Rann of Gujarat, India. Participants will spend their days helping local schoolchildren, distributing school and sports supplies, and helping the professional medical team that will provide free medical care. Trip dates are Jan. 29-Feb. 9, 2009; and Feb. 27-March 10, 2009.
