Ski Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort's 4,139-feet of vertical and 2,500 acres of in-bounds terrain are a magnet for skiers and snowboarders. Plus, there's an open backcountry gate system that accesses more than 3,000plus acres, including the infamous Hobacks. Two mountains rise up from the tiny base village. While most of Rendezvous Mountain and the neighboring gate-accessed backcountry terrain have put this resort on expert and advanced skiers' radar, the open, more gentle trails on ApresVous welcome intermediates. The long-awaited new tram leading to the top of Rendezvous opens this winter. Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has an excellent array of ski and snowboard classes for all levels, including backcountry clinics with world-famous skiers.
Ski at Grand Targhee
The rolling terrain on Grand Targhee's slopes attracts both ski and snowboard powderhounds. Set on the far side of the Teton Mountains, the ride over Teton Pass alone is worth the trip. Grand Targhee has two peaks, tons of snow, and a snowcat operation that ensures you can make ski or snowboard tracks on limitless untouched powder.
Ski at Snow King
Snow King is a tiny ski and snowboard area located at the edge of the town of Jackson. Guests staying at Snow King Resort, have an easy walk to the heart of town, but the slopes are quite short in comparison to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and Grand Targhee.
Cross Country Skiing in Nearby National Parks
Skiers will find many kilometers of cross country ski trails in Grand Teton National Park, almost right outside their doors. The trails threading Yellowstone National Park are an hour away.
