Travelers visiting the Amazon jungle in Peru often go out on the river in boats at dusk with guides to look for caimans who sleep on the banks. This guide 'borrowed' a baby caiman and showed it travelers then returned it to the river bank. Many tour operators offering trips to Peru have an option to spend a few days in a jungle lodge.
