Photos and Images of Acoma, an American Indian Pueblo in New Mexico
The Pueblo of Acoma near Albuquerque, New Mexico, is called Sky City

From Lois Friedland, About.com

You don't have to travel to a foreign country to learn about different cultures. Visit the Pueblo of Acoma, an ancestral community of this federally recognized American Indian Tribe since members began building it in 1150 A.D. You can take a guided tour of the historic Sky City, built atop a 367-foot-high sand mesa, throughout the year. Located 55 miles west of Albuquerque, New Mexico, the Pueblo of Acoma is open for tours throughout the year. The pueblo's Haak'u Museum has an outstanding exhibition featuring master Acoma potters - Lucy M. Lewis, Marie Z. Chino, Jessie Garcia, and Juana Leno - and their families, who jointly inspired the traditional Acoma pottery revival. During the tour, tribal members currently living in the village often sell handmade pottery on tables set on the plazas.
