Even experienced travelers return from a Galapagos Islands cruise and tell their friends this trip is a unique experience. Charles Darwin put these islands on the map with his theory of evolution, and today travelers come from all over the globe to visit these lava islands where seal lions, Darwin finches, land iguanas and other creatures reign.
Here, humans are the intruders, and visits to the islands are carefully regulated by various local and country organizations including the Galapagos Islands park service. If there is a red-footed boobie nesting in the middle of the path, you must step around it. Sea lions playing in front of you. Move away.
The Galapagos Islands are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but an endangered one. On the Galapagos Islands you swim with sea lions, and walk by tortoises & boobies. You also get to view land iguanas, the colorful Sally Lightfoot crabs and other marine animals.
