Destinations Covered by National Geographic Adventure Maps
Currently, the adventure maps include Costa Rica, Belize, Panama, Nepal, Baja North, Baja South and three locations in Nepal (Khumbu. Annapurna and Langtang). There's even an AdventureMap titled Everest Base Camp and another for Cape Town, South Africa. By summer 2011, many more new AdventureMap titles will be available, including Argentina, Bali/Lombok/Komodo, Brazil, Chile, El Salvador/Nicaragua/Honduras, Ireland, Mexico, New Zealand, South Africa and Thailand. By mid-2012, a total of 60 adventure maps will be published.The new titles will feature some of the world's premier adventure travel destinations in Africa, Australia, Eastern and Western Europe, the Mediterranean, Middle East, South America and Southeast Asia. So, don't be surprised if the places featured show up in National Geographic Traveler magazine and other National Geographic media.
The Adventure Maps Are Tough
These rugged maps, printed on durable synthetic material that is waterproof, tear resistant and environmentally friendly, are designed to be shoved into backpacks, pulled out in the rain and otherwise abused by adventure travelers.
