Ecotours to See Exotic Wildlife

By Lois Friedland, About.com

During Wild Planet Adventure ecotours you'll see exotic animals, such as this sloth and its baby.

Wild Planet Adventures

Types of Trips

Wild Planet Adventures offers ecotours designed to bring you into the natural habitats of exotic wildlife in Costa Rica, the Galapagos, Peru, Panama, Belize and other locales. Each trip promises experiences led by local guides who often take you to sites where there won’t be a lot of other tourists.

Good for Which Travelers?

This depends upon the trip you choose. The Galapagos trips, for example, are a particularly good choice for families with older kids.

Who’s Your Expert?

Wild Planet Adventures is run by Josh Cohen, a man with mission. His goal: to introduce travelers to exotic wildlife in unique settings. He develops tours so participants travel in small groups with local guides who have a good idea of where the animals will be located that day.

What’s It Going to Cost Me?

Wild Planet Adventures trips average $225 to $300 a day when staying in mid-range lodging. The company customizes trips for many travelers.
