Women's adventure travel is a growing subset of adventure travel. Many women - single or married - like the camaraderie of all female groups.

AdventureWomen, which has been offering trips designed for women since 1982, has a wide selection of trips for females age 30 and older. The trips range from Big Sky and Yellowstone Hiking, to Baja Sea Kayaking and Iceland Horseback Riding.
2. Call of the Wild
Call of the Wild offers a year-round choice of adventure trips include backpacking, hiking, trekking and multisport vacations in the summer, to snowshoeing and skiing in the winter. Adventure trips include easy to moderate day hikes from discovering Death Valley, to challenging treks along the Inca Trail on Machu Picchu or exploring New Zealand.
3. Adventures in Good Company
Adventures in Good Company, which was started in 1999, offers trips that take women from Alaska and Hawaii to Asia and Africa.
4. Adventurous Wench
Adventurous Wench offers trips from Napa Valley and Belize to Ireland and Greece.
5. Women's Travel Club
The Women's Travel Club offers adventure travel trips, trips to sophisticated cities and many exotic locales. The travelers range in age from 18 to the mid80s, some married other single. For $39 a year, club members get regular newsletters outlining the many trips.
6. Call of the Wild
Call of the Wild trips range from beginner backpacking trips in the wilderness to hiking vacations where the days end in comfortable lodging. Locations and activities range from sea kayaking in the Yucatan to multi-sport trips to Guatemala and hiking in the Everest region.
7. The Women's Wilderness Institute
The Women's Wilderness Institute offers more than 50 courses that teach solid skills for exploring the backcountry and the wilderness. The outdoor adventures and backcountry trips in the Rocky Mountains and southwestern deserts and rivers are for women and teen girls.
