Joining the annual Geocaching Treasure Hunt at South Lake Tahoe won’t cost you a cent – but you could win free lodging, dining, golf or tickets to area attractions. This family friendly event takes place June 13-14,2009 , on the lake's south shore where California and Nevada meet.

What Will You Do?

Bring your own GPS or be one of the first teams who may borrow free GPS units for the two-day event and search for 50 unique caches of valuable prizes. In addition to prizes for the first persons to find each cache, there will be drawings for similar prizes open to everyone who finds a cache and deposits an entry form.

Who’s It For?

The treasure hunt is for single, families, couples and anyone else who wants an entertaining weekend exploring the lower end of Lake Tahoe. The event kicks off a summer-long extravaganza of entertainment and activities on the South Shore.

What’s It Going to Cost?

The treasure hunt is free. If you want to spend the weekend, there are plenty of vacation packages that will cost. You can register for the treasure hunt on the website or at the treasure hunt.
