Have you upgraded tents, sleeping bags and bought new high-tech clothes, then tossed the old gear into a closet or the garage?  The homeless man, woman or family you may have seen lying under thin blankets as you walked by on a cold day could be a lot warmer wearing that older down jacket hanging in your closet.

Homeless Gear, a Colorado-based group run by active sports lovers, collects this old gear and distributes it to the homeless.  To find out how and where to donate the gear you no longer use on your travel adventures, visit Homeless Gear.

After reading about HG on your site, we were contacted by a donor from New York City that wants help to locate a facility in her area that will distribute her newly washed sleeping bag to someone in need. We are in the process of making that match happen. Someone on the streets will sleep a bit more comfortably because of the exposure you provided! Thank You!
